Come Back To Texas!
*Bowling For Soup Goes To The Movies!*
By: Erin Scheck
This is my article that I wrote about Bowling For Soup Goes To The Movies! It was featured in my school newspaper! I hope everyone likes it...
Scooby Doo 2, Sky High, Crossroads, Jimmy Neutron, The Real Gilligan’s Island, The Drew Carey Show. Yes, these are all the names of well known entertainment titles. But what else do they have in common? Well, they all happen to be names of movies and television shows in which you will find the band, Bowling For Soup, on the soundtrack. Yep, these Texas rockers have made yet another album. But this isn’t just any ordinary Bowling For Soup album. It consists of all their movie and television hits from the past years. The band even included some new songs as well. Most of those songs were originally planned for another album, but didn’t make the cut. Many songs where recorded for last year's album, A Hangover You Don’t Deserve, but Bowling For Soup only kept 17. So, these rockers thought it would be a good idea to put out another album with songs that were recorded but not heard by many fans. So the result came to Bowling For Soup Goes To The Movies.

The 15 track album consists of amazing cover songs; from a song about baseball, to a song about a little boy genius. The band wasn’t even expecting to release an album as unique as this one. “The idea of Bowling For Soup Goes To The Movies started out as a joke,” says front man Jaret Reddick. Some songs aren’t even on a TV show or movie. “Some of these songs were made as demos…Basically to be used to TRY to get a spot in a film or show, or just to keep ourselves busy.” stated Jaret. Bowling For Soup Goes To The Movies includes the song (Ready or Not) Omaha Nebraska which was the theme song for the College World Series. The song itself is about baseball. Bowling For Soup even did a Britney Spears cover, …Baby One More Time, that was featured in the movie Freaky Friday. “It is slow and dark. Here you have the happiest band on the planet doing a freakin’ Britney Spears cover and it sounds like rock!” Jaret confessed. So as you can see, there is something for everyone on this album.

This album is great! It’s guaranteed to make you smile! I enjoyed every minute of it. I love the way this band makes music. They always rock! I was impressed on how well this album turned out. I recommend Bowling For Soup Goes To The Movies to anyone who loves music and loves to smile. Jaret ended with “We hope you like it…If not give it to someone you love…They will appreciate the thought…”

I sent the article to the band...and the only one who responded was Gary...but he had some nice things to say about the article...
