SPARTA, Porcellen

If you were stranded on an island with one person who would it be and why?

My Wife. She makes me laugh and we have a great time just being togather!

If you were stranded on an island with one cd only, what would it be and why?

Willie Nelson, Teatro. That record is Rad!!!!! i don't think it is posible to get sick of it. when i first got it, i didn't take it out of my cd player for a couple of months. If you haven't heard it, CHECK IT OUT!!!!!!

What is your favorite line from any movie?

"It's A Profit Deal!!!!" from The Jerk.

What’s your favorite movie?

True Romance without a doubt. it's got everything.... a great story, shoot out scenes for the guys, a love story for the ladies, and a amazing cast.

What joke makes you laugh and never gets old?

It's not a joke but if someone brakes wind or falls down, this kid is gonna laugh!!!!

What song do you consider you’re”theme song”?

Coolage by the Descendents

What is your favorite tour memory?

The first time we went to canada we were all driving in our van. we were going through this mountain pass in the middle of the night. erik was driving and i was sitting shotgun. everyone else was asleep. erik and i kept seeing these wierd things. it looked like clouds moving at us. neither one of us said anything to the other for a long time until it was obviouse that we were both getting freaked out. then we were both relieved that the other was seeing it too. we woke up the rest of the guys and got out of the van and watched this awesome light show. none of us had ever seen the northern lights before. we sat out and watched for about a half and hour. it was a realy cool experiece for us all.

What’s your favorite animal and why?

Cats. they aren't "yes" men. they do what they want. they don't just try to make you happy. and that makes it cooler when they do decide to sit in your lap instead of chillin in the window.

What’s your favorite holiday and why?

I love Christmas. i just like that whole time of year. everyone is happy and you get to spend time with your family and your grandmother cooks up a great meal. I love Christmas!

Did you enjoy this interview?

yes. these questions were fun. not the usual "how'd ya get the name?" and "what is your fovorite city?" these were good Q's.
Thanks for the interview.
Hey gary, Do you think I could do an interview?

sure that sounds cool!
So Gary...how long have you been playing the drums?

i've been playing the drums for 13 years.   that is a wierd number of years because that's how old i was when i started.   this is the only year that i'll have played for the same amount of years as how old i was when i started.

My favorite Bowling For Soup songs are My Hometown and Boulevard. . What's your favorite BFS song?

my favorite bfs songs are... friends of mine because jaret wrote that as a gift to us. and i really means a lot
to us.   but we don't play that song live.   so my favorite song to play live is 2 seater.

What do you like to do when your aren't performing?

Just being at home is awesome.   We aren't ever home, so just chillin on the couch is like a vacation.   but i also   play golf with chris and mess around with
my computer and different programs that i have.

What's the best part about being in a band?

the best part of being in a band is that you get to travel around the world with your best friends and you don't have to pay for it out of your own pocket.

What would you be doing if u weren't in a band?

i have no idea what iwould be doing if i wasn't in a band.   i'd probably still be in college even though it would be my 7th year.   i guess i'd be a professonal student waiting to find a sugar momma and then i'd be mr. mom.

Do you have someone who has really inspired you?

i don't really have any huge idols.   but i would say that i would be doing what i do if it wasn't for all the suport that my mom and sister gave me!

Where's your favorite place to play? *cough Illinois cough* lol just   jokin!. . .but please. . .be honest.

i don't really have a fovorite city, but the house of blues in chicago is one of the coolest venues to play.   the room is awesome, they treat you great and every one there knows what they are doinng.

What's the most embarassing that has happened to you or someone else in the band on stage?

a few months ago i was wolking up to
my drums and when i stepped up to the drum riser, i triped and fell.   it was imbarassing, but funny at the same time.

What's your favorite color?

GREEN BABY, GREEN!!!!

Back In February, I saw the movie Cursed. . .it is so AWESOME that Bowling For Soup has the opening scene!! What was it like filming the opening scene for that movie and with the awesome director, Wes Craven?!

shooting a movie is fun.   everyone mokes sure that you are happy the whole time.   when you shoot videos, its a lot less fun.   it's hurry up and wait at a video shoot. but at a movie shoot, it's like "we aren't going to need you guys for 30 minutes or so.   so you guys can go hang out or do whatever you want.   And wes craven was awesome.   the movie was shot and reshot a couple of times. So our part in the final cut doesn't make as much sense as it did to start out with.   but wes left it in cause he liked us.

Do you have any sort of motto you live by?

"You pay for convience!"   and "Do what ya do"

What does it feel like to know that your music makes people smile andhappy even through tough times?

we just started doinng this for fun.   and we still have fun.   it's great that our music helps people and makes them happy.   that is an awesome feeling.   it is an added bonus.

What advice would you give to people who would like to be in a band someday?

suround yourself with people that you like.   its hard to
never be home with friends and familly, so you want the people you are with to be people that you like.
